A California district legal professional declined to file prices Tuesday against former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson after he was recorded on video in a bodily altercation with another passenger on a JetBlue flight.

San Mateo County District Lawyer Steve Wagstaffe made the decision after having reviewed police stories and movies of the April 20 incident. Both the passenger, who has not been identified, and Tyson requested that no prices be filed.

"Yesterday afternoon the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office concluded its evaluate of the case involving Mike Tyson on the San Francisco Airport on April 20, 2022 and the allegation that he dedicated a misdemeanor battery against one other passenger on an airplane whereas waiting at the terminal previous to departure," Wagstaffe mentioned in an announcement.

"Our decision is that we'll not file any fees against Mr. Tyson based mostly on the circumstances surrounding the confrontation. These embrace the conduct of the sufferer leading as much as the incident, the interplay between Mr. Tyson and the victim, in addition to the requests of each the sufferer and Mr. Tyson that no expenses be filed in this case," Wagstaffe mentioned.

Cellphone video confirmed Tyson, 55, appearing to attempt to punch someone who was pushing him away. Representatives for Tyson said the particular person was harassing Tyson. The video did not show what happened earlier than the altercation.

David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Martin Sabelli, attorneys for Tyson, responded to the decision to not file fees by thanking Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County sheriff and law enforcement businesses "for their careful, diligent, and professional work."
