The family of an 11-year-old woman who survived the bloodbath at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader played lifeless after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother said the 4th grader is struggling to manage and telling them what she witnessed in the course of the capturing.

"Round midnight my sister-in-law called me and she or he was just crying, like 'I feel it just hit Miah. I feel the whole lot came to actuality now,'" stated Blanca Rivera.

Rivera stated Miah's instructor, Irma Garcia, was one of many two teachers killed. Her friends and classmates have been also targeted.

Rivera mentioned that is when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah obtained some blood and put it on herself so she may pretend she was lifeless," said Rivera. "It's an excessive amount of for me to play that scene again and again, but that's what my sister-in-law said is that she saw her buddy stuffed with blood and she or he bought blood and put it on herself."

Miah was injured but taken to the hospital and has been launched.

"My brother mentioned she had bullet fragments in her back," mentioned Rivera.

Rivera, a mother of three, said the family is rallying around Miah to help her get better bodily, emotionally and spiritually.

"At this level, we simply have to wish and ask God to help us move ahead via this case, I know it is traumatizing as it is," said Rivera.
