Nashville Public Library launches ‘Freedom to Learn’ marketing campaign

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — It is a topic that's taken hold in Tennessee: books like "Maus" or "Walk Two Moons" have been pulled from cabinets.

Whereas these books could be banned from some faculties, there is nonetheless some other place yow will discover them.

"Our job is just to make sure that if you want it, it's right here for you," stated Public Information Officer for the Nashville Public Library, Ed Brown.

Those are just among the two million other supplies on the Nashville Public Library.

"All of us watch the TV reveals that we like; all of us watch the totally different sports or root for the totally different teams we're part of," said Brown. "Books are no different."

The aim is to get the 5,000 library cards in the arms of new sign-ups this month.

"We're not making an attempt to be a push again — a drive pushing again in opposition to these choices — we wish to be an alternative to say, if you happen to could not be capable of get it there... you will get it here," said Brown.
