Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s girls to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on ladies’s lives since the Taliban seized energy.
“They should put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is traditional and respectful,” said a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a operate in Kabul.
“These ladies who should not too previous or younger should cover their face, except the eyes, as per sharia directives, with a view to avoid provocation when assembly men who are usually not mahram (grownup close male relatives),” the decree said.
It added that if women had no necessary work exterior it was “better they stay at house.”
During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed similar restrictions on girls.
