LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC/Grey News) - An incident that concerned players from a college’s lacrosse crew and deputies in Georgia stays under investigation.

WTOC experiences Delaware State University President Tony Allen released a press release on Monday responding to the incident that reportedly happened on April 20 in Liberty County.

Allen wrote Georgia regulation enforcement stopped a bus for a minor site visitors violation with the Delaware State Lacrosse workforce on board. Deputies searched the belongings of the student-athletes, including suitcases with drug-sniffing canines.

“100% you can’t be in that left lane in any respect,” mentioned a Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy.

The crew was returning residence from a game in Florida and traveling by a contracted bus, in accordance with Allen.

Liberty County Sheriff William Bowman held a news convention concerning the incident but took no questions. He claimed that no personal gadgets on the bus had been searched.

Body digicam video obtained by WTOC, nonetheless, clearly showed the deputies going through the scholars’ bags and even treatment.

A participant on the bus requested: “How did we go from being within the flawed lane to going through our baggage?”

A deputy responded: “Nicely, he stopped y’all, he didn’t stop y’all for a traffic violation...he stopped the driving force for a visitors violation.”

Nothing illegal was found within the search, and Allen informed the public that he has contacted Delaware’s governor, the Black Caucus and different state officers.

Allen wrote that everybody was incensed over the incident.

Allen also added the next:

“We do not intend to let this or some other incident like it go idly by. We're prepared to go wherever the proof leads us. We have now video. We've allies. Perhaps more significantly, we've got the courage of our convictions.”

Allen concluded his statement by writing, “We'll never be bullied into believing something aside from what we're: Americans, learners, teachers, builders—useful and honorable folks able to soar.”
