Russian spy aircraft violates Swedish air space

A Russian reconnaissance aircraft briefly violated Sweden’s airspace on Friday, Swedish protection officers said on Saturday, as the Scandinavian nation ponders a bid for NATO membership after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“A Russian AN-30 propeller plane violated Swedish airspace on Friday night,” the Swedish defense ministry stated in an announcement, including that its teams had followed the incident and photographed it.
The ministry said the plane was flying east of Bornholm, a Danish island within the Baltic, before it headed toward Swedish territory.
“It is completely unacceptable to violate Swedish airspace,” public tv SVT quoted Protection Minister Peter Hultqvist as saying.
“This action is unprofessional and given the general security scenario very inappropriate. Swedish sovereignty must at all times be revered.”
