A California district legal professional declined to file fees Tuesday in opposition to former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson after he was recorded on video in a bodily altercation with one other passenger on a JetBlue flight.

San Mateo County District Lawyer Steve Wagstaffe made the decision after having reviewed police reports and movies of the April 20 incident. Each the passenger, who has not been recognized, and Tyson requested that no expenses be filed.

"Yesterday afternoon the San Mateo County District Legal professional’s Office concluded its assessment of the case involving Mike Tyson on the San Francisco Airport on April 20, 2022 and the allegation that he committed a misdemeanor battery towards another passenger on an airplane while ready at the terminal prior to departure," Wagstaffe mentioned in a statement.

"Our decision is that we are going to not file any fees in opposition to Mr. Tyson based mostly on the circumstances surrounding the confrontation. These include the conduct of the victim main as much as the incident, the interplay between Mr. Tyson and the sufferer, in addition to the requests of both the sufferer and Mr. Tyson that no fees be filed on this case," Wagstaffe mentioned.

The case is now closed.

Cellphone video showed Tyson, 55, showing to try to punch somebody who was pushing him away. Representatives for Tyson mentioned the person was harassing Tyson. The video did not present what occurred before the altercation.

David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Martin Sabelli, attorneys for Tyson, responded to the decision to not file fees by thanking Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County sheriff and law enforcement businesses "for his or her careful, diligent, and professional work."
