HAMILTON (Mercer) — A police chief from Burlington County now dealing with DWI expenses in Mercer County was mendacity down in the highway behind his pickup truck, keys and cell phone strewn close by — as seen in body digicam footage from the April arrest.

“You’re sleeping in the midst of the road… your pants are down,” the other officer says in another video shared to YouTube by NJ.com.

He asks “Are you diabetic?”

“In no way,” Pesce says — to which the officer responds: “Most likely the incorrect answer.”

Pesce has been on restricted obligation till additional notice pending investigation results as he faces prices for 5 site visitors offenses.

“There’s been a number of calls — and another caller that noticed you get out of the car and stroll to the again," the officer replies.

Pesce disputes that he had been driving, saying “No one was driving.”

He was promoted to chief in 2018, after 20 years with Bordentown police, following the resignation of disgraced former Bordentown Police Chief Frank Nucera.
