CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The dad and mom of a 6-year-old marathoner are speaking out after they say youngster protective companies paid their family an unannounced visit and questioned their children at dwelling.

Ben and Kami Crawford shared a photograph on Instagram Sunday purportedly of one among their kids being interviewed by a CPS staffer. In the accompanying caption, they wrote partially, "Yesterday Child Protective Services (CPS) arrived at our residence unannounced and interviewed our children, parents & grandmother. This is a scary process as a result of normally youngsters are interrogated away from dad and mom, against their will, and their solutions determine the agency's authorized right to remove the kids."


The Crawfords made headlines final week after they let their youngsters, including their son Rainier, 6, run the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati on Could 1 and shared it online. Their Could 3 Instagram submit specifically sparked outcry from social media users, with some critics going as far as to accuse the Crawfords of child abuse.

Campbell County, Kentucky, District Lawyer Steve Franzen confirmed to "Good Morning America" that baby services had visited the Crawfords, but said no determination had been made but in the investigation.

Ben and Kami Crawford addressed critics' accusations in a lengthy Instagram video Saturday.

"The real stuff that we got accused of was dragging Rainier, like bodily dragging him on the marathon course after mile 13 and throughout the finish line," Ben Crawford said.

"For those who guys have seen our end line picture, we all held hands for like the last in all probability, like, .2, .3 miles," he added. "We talked about it ahead of time, like that's what we'll do."

The Crawfords keep their 6-year-old needed to run all along and stand by their choice to let the young boy run 26.2 miles.

"I do not know if I should be offended. I wish to believe that people are doing the very best that they will. They are not making an attempt to wreck our life or, you already know, they probably are legit afraid for our youngsters. But also, it is like, the place's the road?" Ben Crawford asked.

Specialists say a marathon is a severe bodily feat for anybody and it could take a toll on a toddler.

"If a young little one have been to run a marathon, I am apprehensive about electrolyte abnormalities, nausea, vomiting, heatstroke, all these indicators and signs that might not be that clear in a younger baby," Dr. Alok Patel beforehand told "GMA."

Children could have a harder time recognizing warning signs of dehydration, exhaustion or different red flags. Mother and father and caregivers should consult with a baby's pediatrician before a toddler is permitted to have interaction in any strenuous train.
